To Bob, a dear friend

Created by Graham 6 years ago

Bob, I've know you since we were 17, a staggering 45 years, yes it should be much longer, and my mind still can't compute that,

You are no longer here.

Through our early years at Norfolk Technical College, our university lives, being single, celebrating buying cars, being married, having kids, consoling each other when our dear parents departed, what can i say, and now this.

You are no longer here.

This is a concept/ reality that I really struggle with. When we last spoke on the 9th January, we chatted like there was nothing wrong, I asked you if you wanted me to scream or swear and you just said, you know what, it is just good to listen, so we carried on.
I was heart broken when I learned the sad, sad news of your departure from this earth. It comes with a feeling of being absolutely useless, no amount of swearing or screaming will avenge the anger that I felt.

But do you know what, Bob, I've had time to reflect, you have left an incredible legacy in the family you and Liz have made, and the friends that will never forget you.

Do you know what mate,

You are here, your spirit will be here forever.
All the best.
Graham
